ITC is the patron of the hackathon who will sponsor the winning POC. They will consider implementing it across the organisation, if proven viable.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
• You must work with as research agency or service provider (not a client);
• You must have deep understanding and expertise of brand strategy/models, quantitative techniques and/or technology (Brand consultants and/or qualitative insight gurus and /or hard-core quantitative nerds are all welcome)
Skills that are likely to be beneficial:
- Ability to analyse existing brand assessment models and metrics to identify gaps;
- Proficiency in designing research methodologies, including sampling approaches, questionnaire design, and measures to accurately reflect consumer behaviour in the digital landscape;
- Capacity for critical examination of hypotheses, such as audience targeting issues, misattribution of digital impact to TV;
- Familiarity with digital advertising trends;
- Ability to propose innovative data collection solutions;
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools to derive meaningful insights from data and evaluate the impact of advertising on brand health.
BUILDING YOUR TEAM:
• Your team comprises a maximum of 6 individuals. The team can consist of individuals from a single company or a dynamic collaboration between two companies.
• With a passion for quick challenges and the agility to provide substantial solutions, under time pressure.
• And, of course, infuse some flair with an interesting team name and logo!

FAQs for MRSI Hackathon 2023
1. What is the deadline for the team enrollment/sign up?
Ans: 11th January 11.59pm (EOD). You may send your inquiries to info@mrsi.co.in
2. What are the important dates of the MRSI Hackathon 2023?
Ans: The activities of the event are spread across several days:
30th January 2024 - Briefing & Introduction of the Jury
31st January 2024- Team solution submission
1st and/or 2nd February (TBC) 2024- Presentation of the solution to the jury
3. When will we be briefed on the challenge to be solved in the Hackathon?
Ans: Participating teams will receive a virtual briefing on January 30, 2024 at 8.30am. An invitation will be sent to your calendar, and you will need to log in to a web platform for the briefing at the scheduled time. The session is expected to last one to two hours, including Q&A.
4. What if I have questions about the case study and activity to be performed?
Ans: You can ask all the questions during the briefing session - the session would be from 8.30am to 10am on 30th January 2024. There will be no questions entertained after this session is over.
5. What does the team do for the next 24 hours?
Ans: The method by which the team collaborates to reach a solution is at their discretion. It's crucial to emphasize that the event's foundation relies on the participants' integrity, ensuring they refrain from utilizing any external resources to fulfill the Hackathon tasks.
6. What is the deadline for the submission of solution?
Ans: Teams to send their entries not later than 4pm on 31st January 2024 - which is 24 hours after your team starts work on the challenge. Your entries must be sent via email, and the timestamp of receipt of email would be considered to qualify or disqualify the qualification of the entry. It is advised not to wait till the last minute to send the entry. You could get disqualified by a few seconds.
7. What is the format for the submission of entries?
Ans: Participants have all the freedom to decide the format of presentations. You can be as creative as you like. There are no restrictions. If the file size of your entry is greater than 10 mb, please plan to send using appropriate file-sharing platforms.
8. Who would own the IPR for the content presented?
Ans: The IPR would be solely owned by the participants or the participating organization. You may want to consult your organisation on the rules of the ownership of the solution within your organisation.
9. How and where will I present my case study? When will I have to present my case study?
Ans: All teams would have to log in on a collaboration platform (likely to be MS Teams) and make the presentation by sharing their screen. It would help to keep webcams on, however, it is left to the discretion of participants. The presentations would happen between on 1st or 2nd February 2024, time to be finalized shortly.
10. How will I know about the presentation slot?
Ans: Presentation order would be decided based on a random draw. The order would be communicated to all on 31st January 2024 evening. Participants are expected to log in as per the timeslot provided to them.
11. What will be the selection criteria?
Ans: While there would be specific business questions to answer, largely the Jury would be considering some of these criteria for unpack the quality of team solutions:
a. How Unique of the idea
b. How pragmatic is the idea
c. The scope of scale up the implementations
d. The time it would take to implement the idea (readiness/completeness)
e. The dependability of solutions for taking marketing decisions
f. Use of technology in the project.
12. How much time is available for the presentation? Would there be a Q&A round too?
Ans: Provide a detailed explanation of your solution for 5 minutes, focusing on aspects the jury may not be familiar with. Follow this with a 12-minute presentation, incorporating a 3-minute incremental buffer for a smooth conclusion. A 4-5 minute Q&A session, featuring questions suggested for the jury, will follow the presentation. Given the volume of entries and time constraints, participants are urged to adhere to the designated time slots.
13. What happens after the presentations?
Ans: The winner announcement will happen on 21st February at the 5th edition of the Golden Key Awards 2023.
14. What if my presentation has confidential information which I don’t want to present to a larger audience at the GKA/YouTube?
Ans: All participating teams have a choice to inform MRSI and withdraw from the presentation. Teams can even modify some part of the content to cover the confidential information as long as they ensure the audience would get value from the presentation.
15. What is the prize for the winners?
Ans: The one winning team would get the funding from ITC to do the Proof of Concept (POC) with the potential of implementing it across the organization.
16. Do I get a certificate?
Ans: Every participant will be awarded a certificate based on their specific status, be it participation, finalist, or winner.
17. What is the future possibilities of ITC engagement?
Ans: It falls outside the purview and expertise of MRSI and will be subject to professional/business discussion between the winning team and ITC Limited
